LANDLORD PERSONAL INJURY LIABILITY
FUNCTION:
The Landlord Personal Injury Liability endorsement extends liability coverage if the insured, as a landlord, is sued for damages due to one of the following offenses:
- False arrest, detention or imprisonment
- Libel, slander, or violation of privacy rights
EXAMPLE:
June is a landlord and has purchased a Foremost rental Dwelling Fire policy. She evicts a tenant who later sues for wrongful eviction.
If June purchased the Landlord Personal Injury Liability endorsement, she will be covered for attorney fees and compensatory damages up to the limit of liability in the policy. Without this endorsement, June would have to cover these expenses out-of-pocket.
